arizona.jpgSitting upon the wall as you enter the Arizona Credit Union League office http://www.azcreditunions.org is a document that sets the pace for that league – cooperative.  It is a document that every credit union in Arizona has signed in the spirit of – cooperation.  Pat Bodner, SVP of the league, verified through our conversation that  is how credit unions in her state operate – cooperatively.  And, of course, it is the mission of the movement as stated in this document, that credit union are -cooperatives.

Ironically, this cooperative spirit and the mission of credit unions was taking a large step back in history, what many are calling back to their mission, but really forward, helping out members, that week in Arizona.  The Real Solutions program was being rolled out that week in Arizona.  http://www.ncuf.coop/home/programs/realsolutions/realsolutions.aspx.  Sixteen credit unions in that state have made the wise decision to join and offer this program through their credit union.  As explained by Pat Bodnar, SVP, of the league, the program is being made possible through a grant by the National Credit Union Foundation.

The program is under the auspices of Lois Kitcsch, a strong advocate of the credit union mission who has traveled the world promoting the movement.  http://www.ncua.gov/ncuaboard/BoardMembers/Hyland/Presentations/Tampa2006/Kitsch.pdf

This is a great example of an industry staying true to its mission.

More on Real Solutions soon through a wonderful breakfast with Bonnie Doolin, SVP of the Mass Credit Union League.

Real Solutions seems like an awesome program. Props to the Arizona league for staying true to its mission and offering its members solutions to real world problems.
